

Richard Seader, 86, was born April 30, 1939, in Buffalo, New York, and passed away April 4, 2026. Richard will be remembered as a loving and kind man whose devotion to family, faith, and country shaped a life of steady purpose and quiet strength.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Erma Mae Seader; his father, Thomas Keating; his brother, Keith Anderson; and his sister, Shirley Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Seader; his son, Ken Seader, daughter in law Mary Seader, and grandsons Ryan and Zach Seader; and his daughter, Lisa Schroeder, son in law Octavio Schroeder, and grandchildren Hanna and Gray Garner.
Richard proudly served the United States Air Force for 21 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked for the United States Civil Service for 30 years. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. After graduating high school, Richard played minor league baseball—an early reflection of the discipline and determination that would remain hallmarks of his life.
Richard loved traveling with his wife, Pat, including many trips abroad. He was an avid racquetball player, a huge San Antonio Spurs fan, and a season ticket holder for many years. He also had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, Jessie and Bailey, who brought him great joy and happiness.
Above all, Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was kind and giving, and he cherished time spent with family and friends. Richard also had a great sense of humor and was very quick witted—qualities that brought warmth and laughter to those who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on April 28, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Rosary will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Honey Creek, 25781 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, TX 78070, on April 29, 2026, at 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am.
Richard will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, and receive full Air Force honors on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 10:30 AM.
