Richard Spear

Richard Spear, beloved son of Olive M. Cox, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012. Born on March 15, 1948, he was a lifelong resident of the San Antonio State Supported Living Center. Under their caring watch, love and support he lived a wonderful life. He was a member of the choir, a gold medal winner swimming in Special Olympics and by popular vote, served as King of their Fiesta celebration. He is survived by his two sisters, Mrs. Lynette Schumann and her family of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Catherine Bellion and her family of Universal City, Texas. The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers who were such an important part of Dick's life. They are too many to name and he loved each and every one of you. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Supported Living Center, 6711 S. New Braunfels, San Antonio, TX 78223 or a charity of your choice. Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
