Born February 27, 1951 in Lancaster, CA to Paul Martinez and Carmen Lopez and went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2024 at the age of 73.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Carmen Martinez and beloved wife, Maria J. Long-Martinez.
He is survived by his “earthly” dad, Robert Harnish and children, Rachelle Busby (Darrell) and Rique Martinez; stepchildren and their spouses, Norman D. Jacobson (Mireya), Janet Jacobson-Abraham (Mark), John Jacobson (Carolyn), and Joseph Jacobson (Lea); and his siblings, Martha Wheeler (Steve), Edward Martinez and Nina Su’a (Murphy).
He was a world traveler that lived and visited many exotic places during his lifetime. RPM also loved driving. He drove thousands of miles in Europe, visiting almost every country, even going so far as to delivering cars from Ramstein Germany to Sarajevo in Bosnia Herzegovina during its civil war, And he always brought his wife with him on these exotic trips. He never was afraid when he drove to new places because he was the Kind Arrow that befriended people of all walks of life, whether it was John Paul DeJoria, the founder of John Paul Mitchell hair supplies and Patron Spirits or was a homeless person looking for a friend. Kind Arrow was there for you and would be your friend. This is how he met the likes of Evil Knievel, the famous motorcyclist, whom he worked for and also found himself on the set of Broken Arrow, a major movie production company starting John Travolta.
This was Rick Paul Martinez.
His number one passion was helping wounded veterans find peace and solace in this world. He gave thousands of hours of his time advocating for Veterans rights. He went so far as to starting Veterans for America, a non-profit company dedicated to stopping Veterans suicides and ending Veteran homelessness. I urge each and everyone one of you to visit his website: Veterans for America to learn more about what RPM started and consider donating to this worthy cause.
On Thursday, December 12, 2024 family will be meeting at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11:00 AM for a Mass of Resurrection to begin at 12:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
