Ricky Lenn Cash, known as Rick by his friends and family, passed away suddenly on April 18, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. Rick was born on December 26,1962, in Rockford, Illinois to Lenard and Geraldine (Hathcoat) Cash. He was a graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1981.
Rick's life was truly a testament to the things he held dear, most importantly, his family, his passions, and life’s simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He lived life in color. He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, as well as fishing, cooking, music and his lifelong friends. He fondly remembered times sitting around the table playing cards or games with family. He loved all things 80’s, catching up with high school friends, listening to music, and looking for the next concert to attend.
Rick delighted in preparing meals or barbequing for his loved ones. His recipes and the memories of shared laughter around the grill and dinner table will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to experience them.
Always the jokester, his sense of humor was unmatched. He had a unique ability to find the funny in everyday situations, and his laughter was contagious. Rick's true legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness.
He was a wonderful father and valued most, all the time spent with his son, coaching him in CYO sports, activities and camping with the Boy Scouts, weekend trips to Horseshoe Bay and watching all his accomplishments through his formative years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lenard D. Cash and Geraldine Wahlstrom.
Rick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melissa and their son, Landon.
