Ann Barker, 55, passed away November 7, 2002 at home with her family at her side. She had endured a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She touched everyone in her life with her presence, generosity, charm and humor. She loved all animals and was active in conservation efforts. She is survived by her husband, Bill Barker; daughter Leann and her husband Joseph Bach and grandson Jacob. She is also survived by her parents Lt. Col. ret. George E. and Rita Sapp; and three sisters and their families: Gayle and David Humphrey, Patricia and Harold Burns, and Janet Sapp. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family are also to cherish her memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Travis Park United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, the Alamo Ovarian Cancer Alliance, Hospice San Antonio, the San Antonio Animal Defense League of Texas, or Greenpeace.
