Rita was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was a testament to faith, devotion, and unconditional love. She cherished her family above all else and found her greatest joy in gathering everyone together, especially around the kitchen table.
A woman of deep faith, Rita found comfort and strength in reciting the rosary and lived her life guided by prayer. She had a passion for reading and quilting, often creating beautiful handmade treasures that her family will cherish for generations. She was also known for her delicious home cooking, especially her beloved tamales, which became a treasured family tradition and a symbol of her love.
Rita is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Louis R. Benavides; her parents, Cecilia and Jose Navarijo; and her sons, Louis James Benavides and Jerry Benavides.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her children: Richard Benavides and his wife Barbara; Rose M. White and her husband Claudio White Jr.; Doris A. Hussey; Eric Benavides; and Robert Benavides and his partner, Jesse Martinez. Her love also lives on through her grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and gentle spirit.
Rita’s warmth, strength, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will continue to guide and inspire us.
May she rest in eternal peace.
