Robert "Bob" Lee Hays

Robert (Bob) Lee Hays, 78, of Rockport, TX, passed away at 8:49 PM on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 in Corpus Christi, TX. Rosary and funeral mass for Bob will be held on Thursday, October 24th at 11:00 am at St. Mark’s The Evangelist Catholic Church in San Antonio and the burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery.

Bob was born on October 7th, 1946 in Herrin, Illinois to Mary and Lee Hays; they both preceded him in death. He married Mary Virginia Goolsby Hays on August 26th, 1972 in Rantoul, IL, and they then started an exciting military career that spanned more than 21 years. He proudly retired from the Air Force at Randolph Air Force Base as a Lt. Colonel.

After retirement from the Air Force, Bob went on to have a second career as a Chief Financial Officer for numerous national organizations, including most recently for his son’s Real Estate Group. His commitment and dedication to his work was one of his great passions in life.

He dearly loved his family and friends, his cat Coco, being our technology and financial expert, and living by the water. His legacy of living life with humor, generosity and love will continue to live on.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Hays, his son, Patrick Hays, his daughter, Elizabeth Bradley, his son-in-law, Brian Bradley, and his daughter-in-law, Angel Hays. He is also survived by his two brothers and sisters-in law, Richard and Connie Hays and David and Lissa Hays, and his five grandchildren, Kade, Kynlee and Kasen Hays, and Henry and Charlotte Bradley.
