Col. Robert "Bob" Hennessy, USAF (Ret.) passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Universal City. Bob was born September 20, 1942 in Niles, Michigan to Ruth H. Schmidt and Robert John Hennessy. A career military man, Bob was proud to graduate from the United States Naval Academy as part of the class of 1965 -- he then served six tours in Vietnam and one tour in the Persian Gulf at the start of the Gulf War. He retired in 1992 as a Colonel and went on to teach overseas and stateside.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Hennessy in 2004 and son Michael Hennessy. Bob is survived by his wife of the last 17 years, Cynthia Hennessy; son, David Hennessy and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, John and Erin Hennessy, Benjamin Hennessy and Zachary Curry; stepchildren Melonye Hennessy, Melissa Curry and husband Sean; brother, Rick Hennessy; as well as a lifetime of former colleagues in the United States Air Force and students across the country.
