

Robert Gerald Cameron, Jr., age 92, entered into the hands of our Lord on Monday, May 5, 2008.
"Robbie," as he was fondly known, was born on December 4, 1915 in San Antonio to Robert and Hazel Cameron. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, he graduated Brackenridge High School in 1934 and Texas A&M in 1938.
Captain Cameron served in WWII in the European theater as a 34th Field Artillery Battalion assistant commander in the Battle of the Ardennes. Following the war, he returned to the family business at Cameron Manufacturing.
A lifelong Baptist, he was a longtime member of Baptist Temple, where he served as a deacon and choir member. In addition to his services at the church, he had a great love of music and books.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Leroy Cameron, first wife, Geneva Bottorff Cameron, son-in-law, Phil Dunbar, and stepson, Dexter L. Dick Richardson, III. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Doris F. Cameron; daughters, Cynthia Collier and husband, Tommy, of Waco, Becky Dunbar of Howard, CO; stepdaughter, Pamela Wright and husband Rex, of San Antonio; and 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
