

Lt. Col. Robert E. Cann USAF (Ret.), loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2011 at the age of 90. Mr. Cann was born on December 21, 1920 in Shamrock, Texas to Luther and Ella Cann. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and is a veteran of World War II. During his time in the service he graduated from St. Mary’s University Law School while attending night classes. Robert loved practicing as an attorney and was truly dedicated to his profession. While in San Antonio Bob was a Deacon at West Avenue Church of Christ, and later became Elder at Fairview Church of Christ in Garden Grove, California. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Alicia Cann; sons, Bob Cann, Jr. and wife Rhonda, and Tod Dugger; daughter, DeeAnn Terpstra and husband Ken; grandchildren, Bryce, Rob, Tara, Alicia Ann, Ryan, Tyler, Phoenix, and Travis; great-grandchildren, Meredith and Lukas; sister, Myrle Morin and husband Charles; sister-in-law, Lazetta Cann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Sunset North Funeral Home and Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Following the services the family will have a reception at the funeral home. Interment will be at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
