His death resulted from a fall in his home. He was born in Manchester, Ohio on September 1, 1932, the son of Frank and Edyth Ellis.
Mr. Ellis was a retired CPO from the U.S. Navy Reserves. His entire working career was in the aircraft business as an occupation he loved. He was employed with the Dee Howard Co. for many years but retired from Merlin Express in 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou; children, James and wife, Cathy of New Braunfels, Beth Thurber and husband, Terry of Houston, Lorraine Granato and husband, Mark of San Antonio, and John and wife, Sabra of Las Vegas, NV; and 9 grandchildren.
