Robert Daniel Garza

Robert Daniel Garza, born on December 31, 1988, in Del Rio, Texas was sent to his eternal home on October 21, 2025 in Austin, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Devon Blackman Garza, and the son of Robert Garza and Yolanda S Garza.

Daniel graduated from Del Rio High School. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, and obtained a degree in Computer Engineering. He continued his studies at St. Mary’s University and the University of Houston, where he earned his Juris Doctor and an LLM degree. Daniel went on to have a career as an attorney.

Daniel was a shining light in the lives of all he knew and loved. His journey on earth was one marked by love, kindness, and laughter. He enjoyed sharing his love of sports, and especially loved cheering on his Longhorns, Spurs, Arsenal, Yankees, and the Cowboys. Daniel found joy spending time with his pups, Louie and Lando and in his hobbies of Star Wars, Batman, Lego collecting, playing golf, and attending sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Devon Blackman Garza; his father, Robert Garza; his mother, Yolanda S. Garza, Partner, Dan Martinez; and siblings, Nichole Rodriguez, husband, Roland; Susan Bennett, husband, Josh; Bobby Rocha; Raphael Garza, wife, Kathleen; Natalia Philpott, husband, David; Joseph Garza. Six nieces and six nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews, and a number of cousins.

Although Daniel’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and kindness in all that we do.

A visitation will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, located at 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX, 78232, on October 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on October 31, 2025, starting at 11:00 am. We will depart in procession for the committal service at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian, located at 11624 Culebra Rd, San Antonio, TX, 78253.
