Robert Earl Gaston Sr. passed away on February 6, 2020 Burial services will be held at 1:00pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Shelter #1. Robert was born in San Antonio, TX to Mary Jane Hunter and Ralph Cameron Gaston on August 13, 1933. He went to school at John H. Reagan High School and graduated 1951. Robert joined the U.S. Air force on April 6, 1953 and retired on April 30, 1973 as a Master Sargent working as a linguist interpreter and at Security Hill at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was awarded National defensive service medal, United Nations service medal, Korean service medal, the good conduct medal and numerous others. Robert is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Sue Gaston and his daughter Darenda Richardson. Robert is survived by his children Vicki Brock, Phyllis Gamble, Kathy Streusand, Robert Gaston Jr., Mandy Rust, and Dave Gaston, Brother Ralph Gaston, and 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Chavez and his whole team at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home for all there sincere and hard work during this difficult time.
