Just tody 8-7-2010 I got an email from Ricard Rios ,a friend of Bobby and my brother Roland.about Bobby's death Roland and Bobby were best of friends. Now they will meet in heaven and have the laughs that were missed when Roland died at war.They can pal around and talk about school days and the messes they'd get into. I am so sorry to hear of Bobby's death. But am glad my brother has a friend in heaven to remember the good old A&W days.

We are sorry about the passing of Robert. He was a great co-worker and a dear friend. We will miss him alot. Sorry we did not go to the service but we just found out todat. He will always remember him. Once again our deepest sympathy.

I am very sorry to hear that Bobby is gone. My sincere condolences to the family particularly his sisters and children. He was my friend for many years as we were growing up as was his family. He is now with the Lord in heaven. May he rest in peace. God bless, Dolores.

Hello. I just found out this morning of the passing of Bobby, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to pay my respects in person to his family. I first met "Bobby" through my friends David & Danny Hernandez when they would be at his home on Culberson. I knew Bobby more through my Dad, Robert Vargas "the plumber", and my uncle Ollie who lived across the street on Southway. I know Bobby was always a pleasure to be around and his laugh & humor was something to always remember. He was a VERY GOOD friend to my dad & my uncle. I had not seen Bobby in a while but I will miss him and I know he's in a better place just like my dad is. My condolences to you all. Tim Vargas.

What can one say when someone like "Snake", leaves us, except u will be missed. Bobby and i worked the westside of S.A. for several years and Oh what great memories."Snake", took good care of me as a "rookie" cop and kept me out of trouble on several occasions, and of course if anyone got in trouble , well we all got in trouble. minor stuff of course!WE WILL MEET AGAIN MY BROTHER IN A BETTER PLACE.

Dear Jacob, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. After reading about his life and his character traits unselfishly serving his country/city, and his having a large sense of humor speaks loudly of the legacy he is leaving behind. Jacob, you have many of those same traits in you that you will pass on to others. I just know your father was proud of you.

We all lost a piece of our heart on July 13, 2010. I have had the pleasure and the honor of knowing Bobby since 1970 when I joined the San Antonio Police Department. He never forgot where he came from. He always helped those that were less fortunate. If you were around Bobby, you would be laughing. He had a zeal for life that was contagious. My deepest condolences to the family. May the knowledge that Bobby was loved and respected by all who knew him bring some comfort to you in this time of sorrow.

We knew Robert since I started working at the CC VA in 2000. He was a great friend to us and we shared many good times. He introduced us to many other great friends at the Food Hop, especially Chicho. We met Robert's family and he was very proud of all of them. We will miss Robert very much, and will cherish our good times.

I knew Robert for a long time. He laughed with me through the good and crazy times that we had together, supported me whenever I needed it, helped me keep my sanity so many times, and was always there for me with his huge warm heart and his unconditional love. He was my very best friend, and I loved him dearly. I can only hope that I was as good a friend to him as he was to me. He told the neatest corniest jokes I have ever heard,wrote me the most beautiful poems on my birthdays, and always let me know, in Robert's wonderful way, how I could turn any normal situation into total chaos, from consistently locking myself out of my house, catching "the ugliest possums" in my yard, making waitresses tell us their whole life story when waiting on us, and transporting dogs across the country. Fortunately for me,Robert was my accomplice in those and many other adventures. Most of all, I know that he loved his family so much and he was always so proud of them and so very excited about his grandchildren. I will miss Robert, his laughter, his smiles, his stories, his calls to make sure I was okay, but I am so glad that I had a chance to know him. He will always be in my memories and in my heart. Our prayers are with the entire Hernandez family. Bobby Snake as he was known to so many, was one of kind! Always laughing and making other laugh. He was a great friend with a huge heart and will never be forgotten. Rudy and I always enjoyed his every visit to "BuddieS", where we shared some many unforgetable times. Bobby is now home and is shining so bright, as was his smile. Rest in Peace!

Bobby and I worked together at the PD. We were close friends til he retired and life moved us on in other directions. He had a good heart & we enjoyed each others company for years. He Loved playing basketball and softball too. He was a franchize player. I'll always remember him as a good friend/buddy...

I remember when he use to come Grandma's house & he would see me or Bianca & he would pinch our cheeks and give us a kiss. Thanks to him I think,that's why I have rosie cheeks,I don't need blush. LOL!!!! He was a good role model for me & I will love him always & miss him very much.
