Robert Frederick Hillegass

Robert Frederick Hillegass, 92, peacefully passed away at home, on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Bob was born December 13, 1926 to William and Mildred Hillegass in Omaha, Nebraska. He became a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity while attending Denver University.

Bob's passion for square dancing gave him an opportunity to spend time with his future love, Ellie.

Bob had a very strong work ethic and was employed by Hallmark Cards for over 30 years. He later worked for Cliff Notes for 10 years, started by his cousin Cliff. He was a very honorable man and a great provider. He was a member of the Harmony Hills Optimist Club, enjoyed stain glass, loved the outdoors, was a great storyteller and jokester.

Bob, Polio Survivor was the loving husband of 68 years to Eleanor Hillegass; proud father of Patricia Cain (Mike), Rick Hillegass, Jeanne Drysdale (Ken), and Betsy White (David). He is also survived by his 10 loving grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and his four-legged buddy, Hogan.
