Our beloved father and grandfather, Robert Thomas Jackson passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 91. He spent his childhood on Horse Valley Ranch near Medina, Texas, a place he said was the most beautiful spot on earth. As a member of the Greatest Generation, he immediately enlisted in the army upon graduating from high school at the age of 17. He served as a map maker in North Africa. After his enlistment Bob earned his degree from Southwest Texas Teachers College in San Marcos. Following graduation, he taught high school English and coached basketball, tennis and track at Cotulla High School. Later, Bob went on to a very successful career in industrial rubber product sales with BF Goodrich. There he earned top honors seven times by selling his way into the Winner’s Circle, the elite top 1% of company sales.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and an excellent golfer, playing with the Cosmopolitan Golf Association for 54 years. He loved nature, scuba diving, dogs, dancing, reading and his family. He enjoyed 40 years of hunting and fishing with sons and friends at the beloved Brewington Lake Ranch near Medina, Texas. He was always quick to make a friend and tell an engaging true story. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
