Lt. Col. Robert E. Johnson, II, USAF Ret., born January 27, 1924 to Earl Johnson and "Billie" Davis Johnson in Shinnston, WV, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on December 4, 2001. Col Johnson was a graduate of WV Univ. with a BA degree and a graduate of the Univ. of Richmond Law School with a Juris Doctor. Col Johnson served in the Army Air Corp in WWII, was called back to active duty during the Korean War for 20 months, then returned to active duty in the Air Force in 1958 as a Judge Advocate. He retied from the Air Force as the Base Staff Judge Advocate at Langley AFB, VA in 1974. Col Johnson was an avid golfer and devoted supporter of the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He received the Silver Beaver Award of Scouting in 1968. Col Johnson is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Col Robert E. III and his wife Rhonda; daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Neely, and her husband Dr. Jeff Neely; son, Buckner and his wife Michele; son, Douglas, esq.; daughter, Carolyn and husband John Urban; 14 grandchildren, Robin and Amy Johnson, Lauren and Grant Neely, John, Ben and Alison Johnson, and John, Ashley, Noah, Elizabeth, Christen, Caroline and David Urban.
