
We celebrate the life of Maj. Robert Bob Lee Moffett, Jr., USAF Ret. who passed away on September 29, 2001. Robert was born on December 23, 1939 in San Antonio, TX and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Moffett, Sr. and Victoria Payne Moffett. He graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1957 and later went to the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1963 and a Master of Arts Degree in 1970. He was also a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. While earning his college education, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1963, as a First Lieutenant. Robert dedicated 20 years to the Air Force, specializing in computer software development. He retired as a Major, after earning several Meritorious Service Awards for his contributions. After retirement, Robert enjoyed his second career as a University Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Philips College, in the computer science and mathematics fields. He was married to his late wife, Shannon Moffett for over 40 years. He is survived by their daughters, Victoria Kurhajec of Dripping Springs, Texas, Lee Anne Jensick of Folsom, CA and their son, Robert Lee Moffett III of San Antonio. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Moffett of San Antonio; his granddaughters, Lauren Kurhajec and Cheryl Kurhajec, both of Dripping Springs, TX and his son-in-laws, Curtis J. Kurhajec and James T. Jensick.
