Robert was born in Corpus Christi, TX on July 26, 1943 to William and Mildred Kitchens. He is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Ashley Farris and husband Keith; son Brian; and three grandchildren, Kelsey, Jake and Megan; a sister, Martha Close and husband George; sister-in-law LaWanda Hall and husband Darold; one niece and two nephews.
He and Bonnie celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in June and would have celebrated his 67th birthday on Monday. As a father to Ashley and Brian he gave unconditional love; to Kelsey, Jake and Megan he had a love only a grandfather can have; and he deeply loved Bonnie until the end. His family and friends knew he loved his music, his jokes, his sometimes rather long stories, his trivia and chocolate!! Robert loved life.
We will miss him dearly but he left his family and friends with some good stories to tell and wonderful memories.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
