

Robert "Bobby" Maddox, 84, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on January 20, 2017. He was born in San Antonio. He graduated from Hot Wells H.S. He received his Bachelors and Masters from Trinity University where he played football and basketball. He coached with his brother, Tom Maddox, at Edgewood H.S. He played football for the Army. After playing a short stint for the Green Bay Packers, he was a coach for Northside H.S. (John Marshall H.S.) and Athletic Director at Northside I.S.D. then coached at McCollum H.S. He returned to Trinity University to coach and retired as an Administrator in the Harlandale I.S.D. after 39 years of influencing students and athletes. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Maxine Maddox, and his two brothers, Ross and Tom. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and his children, Mark, Bruce, Sherri Murrah (Bob), and Scott; and 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Porter Loring January 29 from 1-3 pm. Services will be held January 30 at 9:45 am at Porter Loring.
Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
