Robert, known as Bob to many, attended Iowa State University where he completed his Bachelors Degree in Business and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. There he met his beloved Nancy M. Mahnke, they were married for 65 years. After school, they moved to South Bend Indiana where Bob worked at Studebaker Automobile Company for 2 years. Bob left that company, moved to Park Forest, IL and began his career in 1956 at R.R. Donnelley Printing Company where he was a print salesman. While working in Chicago, he and Nancy started a family and had their two daughters Marisa and Cynthia. Later, his work took them to Mission Viejo, California then transferred him to Dansville, California. He retired from there in 1992, and he and Nancy moved down to San Antonio, TX to be closer to their daughter, Marisa. Over the years, Nancy and Bob traveled all over the world, visited all 7 continents and made memories wherever they went.
Bob loved going on hiking trips, canoeing, sail boating, yard work, eating cookies and sweets, and driving around in his convertible.
Bob is survived by his daughters: Marisa M. Taenzler (Jeff), Cynthia M. Hybert (Michael), grandchildren: Nicholas A. Hybert (Morgan), Christopher M. Hybert, Joshua R. Taenzler (Sarah), Joelle C. Zellan (Peter), Sean R. Hybert and great-grandchildren: Liam G. Hybert, Aria M. Hybert and Oliver G. Hybert.
Bob's service will be held Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in the Garden Chapel, 825 E. Basse Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209, with a reception to follow at the church.
