

Robert Clinton McArthur, born on March 9, 1930 in Louisville, Mississippi passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 in San Antonio. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, San Antonio, in 1948 and attended Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Aggie track team. Bob was a manufacturer of diamond dental drills, "DiaMac" and a well known rock sculptor in San Antonio. Having carved all hole markers at La Cantera Golf Course, carvings for the Westin La Cantera Resort, PGA carvings for The Dominion, Real Estate Council San Antonio annual awards, and sculptures for The San Antonio Golf Association. He sculpted the Texas Longhorn Steer which greets guests at the entrance of the McCombs Ranch in Blanco. Bob was very active in the John Marshall High School Booster Club and Northside Suburban Little League and especially enjoyed fishing at Port Aransas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Francis Smith McArthur; sisters, Madeline Magers and Carmen Storrie. Bob is survived by his wife, Janelle Hughes McArthur; daughters, Dominique Anne McArthur; Melloni McArthur of San Antonio; sons, Robby Dean Tabor McArthur and wife, Beth of Austin; Jay Larry McArthur and wife, Christi of San Antonio; five loving grandchildren, Meagan McArthur, Meredith Whitley, Madeline Fojtik, Clinton McArthur; Jayme Lin McArthur; two sisters, Jackie Nell Field of Austin; Truman Smyth of Battle Creek, Michigan. The family would like to thank VITAS Hospice Care and Minerva Ortega and Cocoa. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
