
Robert W. Miller, born January 10, 1918, entered into the peaceful Love of God on August 17, 2002 at the age of 84. He graduated from Palmyra N.Y. H.S. in 1936 and the Syracuse University College of Forestry in 1942. Mr. Miller served as a Meteorology Officer in the United States Air Force from 1942-1946, serving in the China-Burma-India theater during World War II. He completed 20 years in service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves. Upon his completion of active duty, he returned to Syracuse University, where he completed a Master's Degree in education. He then commenced a career in secondary education as a science teacher, guidance counselor and cross-country coach in various schools on Long Island, NY and later as a high school principal for 13 years at Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, NY. Mr. Miller and his wife, retired to New Braunfels, TX in 1982, where they lived for 17 years. Three years ago, they moved to Air Force Village II, an independent senior living community in San Antonio. He was a wonderful family man, devoted to his wife and children and his integrity, humility and sense of humor will be deeply missed. He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Marjorie M. Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kirk Bailey of Corpus Christi, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Bettilee Miller of Winnetka, IL; and son, Robert L. Miller of New Braunfels, TX; 7 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; and sister, Dorothy Zollweg and husband, Warren of Spencerport, NY.
