Robert W. Newhouse Sr.

Robert Warren Newhouse, Sr. was born in Montgomery, AL on October 21, 1927 and passed into eternity surrounded by his loving family on December 24, 2010 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 83. He grew up near Hollow Rock, TN and Washington DC and served in the US Air Force from 1946-1949. Robert retried from Alamo Iron Works in San Antonio after 45 years of service. He was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Hot Wells Baptist church for many years and more recently a member of Southeast Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Newhouse, Sr. & Bessie McIntosh Newhouse; brother, William A. Newhouse, Jr.; sister, Jean Jean K. Martin. Surviving are his brother, James H. Newhouse; sister, Betty J. Bennet; wife of 62 years, Marjorie D. Newhouse; sons, Robert Warren, Jr., Leslie Stephen (Linda) & William Ray; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as a large extended family of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews & cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend Jerry Cosper, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Chris, Gary, Mary & Don, for their compassionate care & support.
