Known affectionately as “Bobby Ray” to his family, Robert was the youngest of six children. Growing up with five older siblings, Jimmy, Carole, Tony, Larry, and Sharlenne, he held a special place in the family.
Robert had a goofy sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a knack for making those around him smile. He especially loved joking around with his daughters, Amanda and Emily, and his granddaughter, Remi. Whether he was being silly or telling a story, he had a way of making even ordinary moments memorable.
Robert shared 30 years of marriage and family life with Pamela Remy, raising their two daughters, Amanda and Emily. He was a loving and adoring husband during their years together, and his family remained an important part of his life.
Throughout his career, Robert served as both a police officer and security officer. He was a dedicated coworker who treated those around him with kindness and respect. He was especially passionate about women's safety and taught self-defense classes to college women, sharing his knowledge and helping them develop the confidence and skills to protect themselves.
A true people person, Robert never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, whether it was someone he'd known for years or someone he'd met five minutes earlier. He was just as happy visiting the local pawn shop to chat with the employees as he was catching up with an old friend. He genuinely enjoyed connecting with people, and he always had a story to tell.
Robert enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found tinkering in the garage, working on his motorcycle, or searching garage sales for his next great find. He also had a passion for researching his family's genealogy, tracing his roots and discovering stories about generations past. He loved country music, going to the movies, and the simple pleasures of everyday life.
His blue heelers, Pepper and Sammy, held a special place in his heart. They were his constant companions, and he loved them dearly. The loss of Pepper earlier this year was especially difficult, and Sammy remained by his side.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Amanda Kay Remy and Emily Leann Remy; his granddaughter, Remi; his siblings, Carole, Tony, and Larry; and his beloved dog, Sammy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Remy and his mother Vera Remy; his brother, Jimmy; his sister, Sharlenne; and his beloved dog, Pepper.
Robert will be remembered for his kind and serving heart, his laughter, his stories, his curiosity, and his ability to make a friend wherever he went. He was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
