He was a member of Kendall Lodge #867 A.F. & A.M. of Texas, Scottish Rite 32, Knights Temple San Antonio #7, Past Patron of ADAH Chapter 49, and Chapter #200 Order of Eastern Star. He was a loving husband and one of few men who lived by the Masonic rule.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marvin Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlene Carpenter; son, Robert L. Carpenter, II; siblings, Ed and wife Marilyn of Des Moines, IA, Jack and wife Evelyn of Anaheim, CA, and Dorothy Reames of Cedar Rapids, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Masonic services will be conducted under the Auspices of Kendall Lodge #897 A.F. & A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, TX 75219.
