Ijust read Col Snell's passing. I was his secretary a long time ago, but I can still remember all the fun & laughs we had and how he loved his wife, boys and dogs. I will really miss him. He was a good man and I know he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers to Chris and the boys.

I was one of the group that attended NMMI and later graduated from Norwich. At NU Bob and I roomed together our first year there in 1956-7. Since graduation our paths only crossed twice, once when I visited him in San Antonio while briefly stationed at Fort Sam in 1958, and in 1965 in Saigon. Since then I've thought of him often and regret that we never again met up. To his family I extend my sincere condolences. Bob was witty, great fun to be with, and one of the brightest men I've ever met. I have very fond memories of the times we spent together. Sincerely, Carlo D'Este,

Mr. Snell was always nice to me as a young man when I would visit Mike at his house. I always will remember his dry sense of humor and his interest in history and the military. Mr. Snell was a good man and a good father. Mike, Scott and Matt should be proud that they were raised by such a man.

He was a classmate at Central Catholic. I have fon memories of him and will keep him in my prayers.

We have many fond memories of fun in our youth. We have thought about you often. Our prayers are with your family and may the perpetual light shine upon you.

Robert was a true hero, a great father and great man. Roberts commendations speak volumes about his will,his spirit and what he stood for. He truly is a hero. To Chris, Mike, Matt and Staci, and Scott, I didn't know Bob for a long time but I had the pleasure of meeting him on December 31, 2006, while he was tending to Staci the first day she was hospitalized. That was a trying time for me, but I could hear and see Bob's love and admiration for Staci in his voice and actions. I also remember what Chris said to me that day, that Staci was the kind of girl you want your son to meet. Bob and Chris, both, were a real comfort to me, and I dearly appreciated their good words. In the year that passed, Bob was absolutely wonderful to my daughter, especially when she returned to San Antonio -- and for that, I will be eternally grateful. We very much liked Bob with his easy-going way, sense of humour, and eagerness to always lend a hand. To me, he was a good guy, a great father, and an outstanding father-in-law! My sympathies are with all of you during this time. I know it will be tough and I only wished I had the words that could make the hurt go away, but those words don't exist. Your memories will sustain you in the days to come and help you endure this time. Bob will be missed, but he's left behind a legacy in three fine young men that I know, in whom, he was extremely proud. You guys take care of each other!

Matt, Scott, and Snell family I just wanted you all to know that I have you in my prayers and I am truly sorry for the passing of your father and all though I have never met your father you are my friends and I will keep your entire family in my prayers.

Just have to say that after getting to know The Col. I now know where the Snell boys get their sense of humor. I am glad he was able to see Matt get married because I know that meant the world to him. God Bless him and the entire Snell Family.

Bob was a proud, independent man who loved his family. His world revolved around his children, and he was always there to provide support in any crisis, big or small. He was not afraid to openly express his affection, and his good-natured teasing assured everyone that they were important to him. He was definitely a pillar of support, and his family will miss his love and wisdom. His stubborn determination would not have allowed him to suffer the indignities of a stroke without a fight, so the Lord took him home. There is comfort knowing that he did not have to live in a way that would have caused both him and his family any sadness. Here's to the "colonel," a great friend! He's in the place where fresh blueberry pies are abundant!

I could say it a million times, but I was so saddened to hear of the passing of your father. There are some people you meet in this world that you just know are good people and The Coloniel was one of those people to me. He was a great and caring man, and that is clearly reflected in his children. My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with you all during this extremly hard and trying time in your lives.

He was so much more than a father-in-law to me. Thanks to all who have shown their support. We love all of you.
