He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil & Mary Sanchez.
Robert leaves behind cherished memories with his one love, Lucinda Sanchez, and their two beloved children, Robert L. Sanchez II, and Elizabeth Sanchez Liddell. He is survived by his brother, Edward Sanchez, extended family and many lifelong friends.
Robert enjoyed playing golf in the earlier years with friends. He loved family and friend vacations on the Texas coast. Being a mechanic by trade and having a passion for automobiles and the sport, he never missed a Nascar or Formula 1 race. The day NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt Sr. met his maker that fateful Daytona in 2001, was one of Robert's darkest days. Robert was a an altruistic, humble man who loved his privacy and quality family time. Playing bass and singing in a rock and roll band in his youth, Robert had a passion for all styles of music. He spent many hours with his family watching his favorite movies from spaghetti westerns, military classics, horror and sci-fi instilling a love for writing, film, and music in his two children. He was an inventor, creator, mechanic, singer, adoring father, loyal husband, mister fix anything, animal loving-real life Tarzan, music man who loved fast cars and his country. A legendary man so beloved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10:00 a.m. Procession will depart after services for interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
