Robert was born in Waukegan, Illinois, to John Edward Seliskar and Mary Lou Rettig Seliskar on September 28, 1942. He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School. He married Dreama Lowry on July 2, 1966, in San Antonio. He was a veteran and served in the Army.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dreama, sister, Marcia Russell, daughters, Kristin and Leah, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert—Bob to his friends, Papa to his family—loved spending his time working on his home, maintaining and augmenting the house he and Dreama made a focus for multiple generations of their family. He will be remembered for his fun-loving nature, his gregariousness, and his mischievous (but playful) streak. In addition to his joviality, Papa was adored for his storytelling, delighting his children, and later his grandchildren, with stories of Alan the Airplane and Sammy and Samantha Squirrel.
Visitation will be at 11 am, with services at 12 on Monday, February 17 at Sunset Memorial Park. His brother-in-law, Alan Lowry, will be officiating. Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 26th, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Pavilion 3.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.
