Robert Earl “Bob” Shirtum age 99 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born in Claybanks Township, Michigan on December 8, 1919. Bob was an Air Force Veteran who served as a pilot in WWII. He went on to serve in the Weather Bureau in the Civil Service and retired from the National Weather Service at San Antonio in 1979. Bob was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elizabeth Shirtum; his wife of 64 years, Anna Jo Shirtum; his siblings, Ernie Shirtum and Nellie Switzer; and his son, Robert Page Shirtum. He is survived by his children, Joe Shirtum, Linda Shirtum, and Wayne Shirtum and his wife, Maria; his daughter-in-law, Barbara Shirtum; and siblings, Earl Shirtum and Lois Gibson; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3rd from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 4th at 10:00 am at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
