Gaitan, Lucy T. Garcia (Richard), Teresa T. Esparza (Nicolas) and Cecilia M. Terrazas.
As a husband of 44 years, Robert would say that, firstly, he enjoyed being a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and all that came with it. When he was not being a family man, he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, carpentry, billiards, music, storytelling, movies, and grabbing a bite with his love Sara. He was known for his wit, comedic styles, constructor skills, and ability to solve issues. He defined his successes by the successes and achievements of his family. He did not feel he succeeded in life until he knew he was able to best provide a landscape of opportunity and chance for his family. He raised his children to not be him, but to be better than him. He was the person that anybody could go to when they needed help and would truly be the first to give the shirt off his back. He was an extraordinary force. A rugged exterior of a man with a heart of gold that genuinely loved the human aspect of life. He was unapologetically himself and loved his family with every bit of his being- though not a man that hails from a love language of words-his love was undoubtedly felt and never questioned. His loyalty, bravery, and selfless nature made him a one-of-a-kind husband, father, and person. He lived for his family and was known for saying that his only existence was for his family. Robert passed peacefully alongside the love of his life, Sara. A true love story. Robert’s legacy as a husband, father, son, brother, and friend is carried on by his family and all those whose lives he touched. Everybody has a “Robert” story burnt into their minds and it is encouraged to share those at the first opportunity. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. His family and friends will continue to carry on his legacy, except with his guidance from above instead of beside.
Visitation will be on Thursday June 27, 2024, at 5:00pm at Trevino Funeral Home on 226 Cupples Rd. with Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm.
