

Bob served in World War II, with the U.S. Air Force, in England and Germany. After the war he completed his college education and began a career with the U.S. Department of Defense in Albuquerque, NM, moving later to California, Hawaii, Japan, Vietnam, before assignments in Montgomery, Alabama and San Antonio.
Having a God given talent as a musician and actor, Bob played trumpet with jazz bands in the U.S. and Japan. Loving acting, Bob appeared in little theater, television and movies, both in the U.S. and Japan. One of Bob's favorite acting jobs was getting to play in the television western series, "Rawhide," with Clint Eastwood.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Nobuko Fukuda, a professional jazz musician in Japan and the U.S.; brother, William Bill Utterback and wife, Karol of San Antonio; brother, Larry Utterback and wife, Kelly of Battle Creek, Michigan; nephew, Larry Utterback and daughters, Sharone and Chantelle of Mesa, Arizona; niece, Carol VandenBos and husband, Roger of Kalamazoo, Michigan; niece, Debra Cox and husband, Kenneth and children, Cody and Colton of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Lori Miller and husband, Dr. David Miller and children, Garrett and Megan of San Antonio, and Lisa Utterback of Austin.
