Roberto Echevarria Gusman

Roberto Echevarria Gusman went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas with his loving children and wife by his side at the age of 72. He was born on February 19, 1950, in Floresville, Texas to Eloisa Echevarria and Bicente Vela Gusman. Roberto graduated from Stockdale High School and moved to San Antonio to attend San Antonio College where he enjoyed studying electronics for his Associates Degree. Shortly after moving to San Antonio, he met a beautiful still model working in a department store named Esther, who would then become his wife and ultimately spend the next 47 years together in marriage. He went on to work for Radio Shack opening new stores in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Brownsville. He later returned to San Antonio where he began his career with Southwestern Bell, later retiring from AT&T after 31 years of dedicated service. Roberto was an honorable man serving with the Knights of Columbus and other charitable organizations. He loved music, fishing, rodeo trail rides, hot rods, playing poker with the family, traveling, good food and time well spent in conversation with family and friends. He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his older infant brother, Bicente Gusman, Jr; mother, Elosia E. Gusman; father, Bicente V. Gusman. Roberto is survived by his wife, Esther Gusman; son, Sergio Gusman, wife Christine; daughter, Maricela Gusman; his favorite grandson in the world, Vicente Gusman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.

The family will receive family and friends beginning at 6:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
