Roberto Andres Meza, also known as Andy, passed away on October 19, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 53. Born on May 27, 1971, in Laredo, Texas, Andy was loved for his humor, generosity, and quick wit. He shared his joy for life with his wife and their children. Andy loved golf and coaching softball, known for his lightheartedness on and off the field. He had a special bond with his players and they always knew they could count on him. His friends and family will always remember how he could make everyone laugh, even in the most awkward moments, like dancing in the car or bursting out with his unforgettable, over-the-top laugh.
He lovingly took on all the nurturing roles, ensuring his wife and family always felt cared for and supported in every aspect of life. He got this quality from his Mother, Abuela, and Aunt Frances who all raised him with love, care, and selflessness that made him into the man he was stepping up at a young age becoming the man of the house. Andy was always the "tough guy" but he met his match when he married his wife, Melissa who became his best friend in life. Together, through life’s most difficult challenges, they built a home full of love, raising three beautiful children. Alec, the splitting image of his dad, inherited his love for sports. Alyssa, the daughter with his caring heart, is always taking care of everyone. Arianna, the "Littlest Meza," who could out-jest her dad on any given Sunday, always loved watching football with him.
Described by friends as funny, generous, and thoughtful, Andy never missed an opportunity to lend a hand or flip a situation on its head to find the humor in it. His larger-than-life personality and over-the-top laugh made every gathering brighter. For there was never a dull moment with Andy, and never will there be a memory of him that doesn't bring a smile to our faces. He is preceded in death by his Abuela Antonia Garcia and Father Henry Garcia. He is survived by his wife Melissa of 19 years, son Alec Meza, twin daughters Alyssa and Arianna Meza, mother Maria Garcia, aunt Francis Garcia, sister Thelma Meza Crouch, and brother Abraham Garcia.
As we say goodbye to Andy, we wish him safe travels, and may his final tee-shot land him smack dab on the green of eternity.
