Bob attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Martin High School. He graduated high school in 1950 and at 16 years of age attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1954.
During his senior year in high school he met the love of his life, Yolanda Garza. They were sweethearts through his college years, and in 1955 they were married.
After two years of being in the Army, they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he worked for the Texas Railroad Commission. It is also where their first three sons, Bobby, Mike and Danny were born.
The family then moved to McAllen, Texas where Bob was a partner in a petroleum company in Mexico. As the company grew so did the family. Javier and George were the last two boys added to the Trevino clan.
In 1966, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas where Bob worked for the Civil Service as an engineer. In 1970, he earned his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. He retired from the Civil Service and worked for K.M. Ng and Associates until his retirement in 2012.
He worked on many prestigious projects in Texas but he took the most pride in his work when he helped build "the zone" in Kyle Field at Texas A&M.
He loved his family dearly and spending time with his wife, 5 sons, 4 daughter in laws, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren was such a joy to him. His love for God and his family were his first priority. He believed that you strive to be the best at everything you do. It was imperative that his family be raised in the church with strong values instilled in them and that he was an example for them to follow. He didn't just talk the talk but he walked the walk.
He will be remembered as a great man of Integrity with a loving and kind heart who will be missed greatly.
