My condolences to the family. This man made a huge impact in my life growing up. He was my VP and always pushed me to do better and stop getting in trouble. He was well respected and even though we were problem kids he never gave up on us. I can still hear him tell when I would go into his office "what the hell is wrong with you and what did you do now!" But I know he cared more than most people. Definitely will be missed...

Analissa, I am sorry to hear about your father...I ran across the notice while packing to move "home". I know our lives have lived, but you have always been deep in my heart. I pray for peace and blessings for you and your family. Please have comfort in knowing prayers are with you and the out pouring of love will never cease. He is home watching over all of you, and I'll ask my grandma to show him the ropes! With much love!!!!

My deepest sympathies to the Lunoff family. Roel will always be Looney to me and a very close friend from my Jr. High and High School years.  Looney, we shared some great times and lots of laughs.  I especially remember our work with the student council during my senior year (1970).  The last time I talked to Looney was in 1989.  Looney took the time to call me and congratulate me on my upcoming wedding.  We shared stories and got caught  up in what each of us had done for the past 19 years since leaving Fal High. May God embrace you with his peace and love my friend.  

To Looney's three children I simply say may God be with you. Your dad was a very special person.  He touched many many people in a positive way. To this day his humor lives on as lots of his humor rubbed off on me and now am passing that on to my kids. I will shed tears for my friend Looney but I will also smile when I remember the laughs we shared. He will be missed.

Roel was my vice principal at Kirby Jr. High. He was also a great friend and very fun to be around. He made us laugh, and at the same time, reminded us of what was important in life. He loved his kids and wanted everyone to know how great they are. We will miss you, Roel.

I would like to express my condolences to Roel's beautiful family. I graduated with Roel in 1970. My family lived two blocks away from Roel and his family. Roel was such a wonderful person, easy going with a smile on his face all the time.  The 1970 Graduating class of Falfurrias will miss you this year. My God Bless your family and fill their void.

 Roel was a true friend. We roamed the "callejones de Mejicito" as kids in the 50's and 60's.  He was a great example of a caring professional who had the ability to help anyone who might have had a problem or issue.  As a friend, he was always there to help in any way possible. I'm deeply saddened by Roel's passing.  The last time I saw Roel was when he yelled out my nickname, Skeeter at Grady's Restaurant on Bandera Rd.  We had a great conversaton and laughs recalling our old neighborhood days in Falfurrias. My condolences to all his famiy, especially my Compadre Meme.

I was Mr. Lunoff's Secretary at Kirby Middle School.  He was the best boss anyone could ask for.  He was always there to give me good advice and I knew how much he cared for his students.  Mr. Lunoff always talked so proudly of his family.  He touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed by all of us.  He will always be in my heart!

Senior Year at Fal. High, Roel & I were President & VP respectively. We had good times and also had to step up at times to be sure the class of 1970 was on track for doing good and receiving credit for it. A funny but true story relayed to me by one of his former teachers.One day in the teacher's lounge Roel or "Looney as he was affectionately called by his friends" was telling his teacher's about this guy from Fal. who went to West Point. Well Before he could complete his story, one teacher said that was Marshall Best. Well Roel was astounded that someone would know that. Come to find out that, that teacher and her husband were stationed with Me (Marshall Best) at my initial assignment in the Army after the Academy Graduation. Roel told me this story at my Dad's funeral. Roel, we will miss you as will your family. Job well done my friend; God has a greater need for you now. You leave behind a rich legacy.
