

Roel "Roy" Rodriguez, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the age of 64. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 2, 1948. Roy proudly served his country during Viet Nam in the United States Navy. He was a Scout Master and an Eagle Scout in the Scouts of America. Roy and was also a Troop Leader of the Girl Scouts of Amercia. Roy was a volunteer for the PTA at Agnes Cotton Elementary School and an assistant at St. Ann Catholic Church and St. John the Evangelist. Roy was an air conditioner technician and appliance repairman, who could fix anything. He was known in the neighborhood as the "go-to-person" whenever anyone needed help or wanted to learn a new skill. Roy will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Moses and Maria Rodriguez; his loving wife of 42 years, Lorraine Rodriguez; son, Roel Rodriguez Jr.; granddaughter, Leslie Marie Rodriguez; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Committal Service will be held the following morning, Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:45 a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach.
