Roger Edward Borrego, age 64, was called to eternal rest by our Lord on September 21, 2026. Roger was born on January 17, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas to Robert Borrego Jr. and the late Clara L. Polanco Borrego. Roger attended Mt. Sacred Heart Catholic School, Eisenhauer Middle School, and was a graduate of the Winston Churchill High School class of 1981.
Roger had many interests as he grew up. He loved his childhood pets, especially his dog Nicki. Roger participated in Cub Scouts and enjoyed the outdoors. There were trips to the coast where he fished with his dad and Uncle Raul. He learned to sail on a small Sunfish sailboat at Canyon Lake and then mastered a Catamaran. He also enjoyed water skiing and surfed in California’s coastline with his Uncle Archie. A favorite vacation spot was the island of Kauai in Hawaii.
While in middle school, he inspired his close school friends to participate in the “Estes Rocket Club.” Many hours were devoted to building rockets and then launching them at nearby school fields. He enjoyed drawing and painting.
Music became his main passion in life. He learned to play clarinet and trumpet in elementary school. He would go on to learn acoustic and electric guitar and numerous other instruments. He played at local clubs through the years and “jamming” with his bandmates was his passion.
Roger also assisted with his father’s business, Adelita Tortilla Factory, in San Antonio. He was currently assisting his father with daily well-being. Roger enjoyed participating in family gatherings with his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was thrilled to visit with great nephews, Daniel and Nolan.
