Roger was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on March 5, 1939, the son of Richard Charles Conley and Lorraine Hotchkiss Conley. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Conley, Pat Conley and Pamela Conley Morgan and many treasured friends over his years living in Dallas, Sherman, Houston, and Magnolia, Texas.
Roger is survived by his cherished wife of 61 years, Denise Conley of San Antonio, daughter Kimberly Conley and partner Aaron Stifter of San Antonio, brother Richard Conley (Gail Conley) of Sachse, close niece and nephew, Natalie Taylor (Jim Jacobs) of St. Louis, and Steve Daniels (Christina Daniels) of Dallas.
To know Roger was to understand the words, kind, incredibly generous, hard-working, respectful, faithful, honorable, and patriotic. Early on he served in the Air Force as a mechanic on the B-52 bomber. He was honorably discharged in 1959 to take care of his family upon the early passing of his Father. Roger was fun loving, funny and quite the storyteller. Throughout his life he had a love of cars in general, particularly fast cars. In his younger years he was seen at all the regional racetracks doing what he enjoyed most - racing his super stock race cars, or any other car for that matter. Racing, machinist, and building performance engines to make cars faster was not only his occupation, but his favorite pastime. He was a true craftsman in his trade.
Roger was a wonderful husband, father, brother and uncle, and a great friend and mentor to many. He lived his life believing you could do anything if you set your mind to it and in turn always did his best to do what was right. He always took care of his family and friends no matter the circumstances, and he loved his family beyond words. Roger was a blessing to all those he knew, and he will be greatly missed.
