Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Roger M. Kelley, age 67, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 with his family at his side. Born on May 1, 1949 to wonderful parents, Maxine and William Kelley with one sister, Beverly Spence. On August 1, 1970, Roger married the love of his life, Judy Delores Lee.
As written by Roger, he "had a full life of events and experiences, only a few people in the world have had more. Having been born in America and able to travel the world with someone you love is incredible in itself. We traveled from Russia to Hawaii and touched everything in between. As a family, we experienced so much together as only a few have done. No family was ever as tight as ours! I've had many, many friends through my life that made my life full-filling. I always tried my best go give more than I received with any relationship, leaving me with a feeling of fulfillment."
Roger is preceded in death by his father, W. R. Kelley and father-in-law, Gerald Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 magnificent years, Judy Kelley and their children, Adam Kelley and wife, Krista; Casey Shannon and husband, Anthony; along with his mother, Maxine Kelley and sister, Beverly Spence; his mother-in-law, Loreta Lee; two grandchildren, Emma Paige Kelley and Landon Max Kelley, niece, Kelley Wendt and many wonderful and fantastic friends and neighbors.
Roger's mom and dad started the Home & Patio store in San Antonio where Roger worked his whole life, taking over the family business in 2002 after the death of this dad. He was a member of the San Antonio Mustang Club and a founding member of the Hill Country Kart Club.
Roger left us with his heartfelt words: "I could not have asked for a better life experience; my wife and children are incredible people ~ I thank them for traveling with me! It is, what it is…My last thought will be how much I loved Judy! May she cherish our many experiences we had together.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough.
