

Roland Joseph Cassard, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday May 22, 2017. Mr. Cassard is survived by his wife, Virginia Cassard, eight children and their spouses, seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roland was born on January 4, 1927 in Louisiana. He was the youngest and only boy of five siblings. At the age of seventeen Roland proudly enlisted in the military to serve his country. He served in the U.S. Navy and later retired as Tech Sergeant in the U.S Air Force. He served in World War II and Vietnam War, receiving numerous medals and commendations. After retiring from the military, Roland worked and retired from Southwest Research. People will remember his sweet spirit, contagious smile and love for God. Also, his undying faith, powerful prayers and beautiful singing voice. Roland loved spending time with his family, attending church, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. He was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and church family. His legacy will live on for generations to come. Those who love him will agree that he was the greatest man that ever lived.
