Ronald M. Cordes

He was a Vietnam Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He spent 31 years as a civilian in the Air Force Audit Agency where he retired. He came out of retirement to become the Director of Internal Audit at North East Independent School District, where he served 8 years. In addition, he served on the Firstmark Federal Credit Union Board as Chairman and continued on as a board member. Ron always had a passion for woodworking, especially creating pens.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn Cordes; son Greg Cordes and wife Jeannie; daughter Kimberly Cordes-Metzler and husband Scott; grandchildren Courtney, Chase and Ashley; sister, Nancy Sigl and husband Joe; and many more family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
