

Born in Wichita, Kansas, on May 15, 1940, Ron attended Wichita West High School. He was active in sports, a member of the Letterman's Club, and a class president before graduating in June 1958. Ron received a BBA Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Texas, and an MBA Degree from East Texas State University in Industrial and Personnel Management. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi International Fraternity.
Colonel Blake entered the Air Force upon completion of his Bachelors Degree and spent almost 30 years in a wide variety of command and staff assignments around the world. His military decorations include: The Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legions of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the National Defense Medal.
Colonel Blake is survived by his mother, Rosella Pierson; a brother, Tony Blake; a sister, Pamela Johnson; and his beloved wife of over 40 years, Connie Sue Kinser Blake; also his mother-in-law, Marie Kinser; a sister-in-law, Brenda Rollins; 3 brothers-in-law, Kenneth Kinser, Don Johnson and Rick Rollins; and 8 nieces and nephews, Teri Gee, Keli Shaffer, Tony Blake, Jr., Brandi Blake, Greg Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Nathan Rollins, and Heather Perkins.
It was Ron's wish that all who knew him and took the time to read this notice would contribute to their favorite cancer charity.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the Hematology/Oncology Unit and Bone Marrow Unit at Wilford Hall Medical Center, along with the staff at VistaCare Hospice.
