Ronald Walter Surman 76, passed away on March 9, 2020. Ronald was born to Leroy Surman and Genevieve Shaw Kaiser in San Antonio, TX on December 15, 1943. He worked for City Public Service for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He was an avid golfer who loved a round on the weekends and was a member of the City Public Service Golf Association and enjoyed the occasional friendly competition. He loved to work with his hands and always said he could fix anything but a broken heart. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and loyal friend that will be dearly missed.
Mr. Surman is preceded in death by his parents and his beautiful wife of 51 years, Shirley and is survived by his daughters Dawn (and husband Dee) Stephens and Nicole (and husband Lony) Edwards, his grandchildren John, Nicholas, Stephen, Jayden, Lilliana and Savannah, his brother Darryl (and his wife Betty) Surman and his precious fur-babies Ms. Molly, Patches and Pumpkin.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday March 12, 2020 from 5-8pm with a Rosary recited at 6pm. The Funeral Service will be Friday March 13, 2020 at 11am with the burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
