

Ron was born in San Antonio to Bruno and Elizabeth Wiederstein on October 18, 1940. He went to school at Schertz-Cibolo High School, and he later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He worked as a coach for a few years, then established his own business, Wiederstein Furniture, on the Austin Highway. Ron eventually returned to teaching and became a DUI instructor and dedicated himself to helping his students. He was a very spiritual man, who enjoyed assisting people even after he retired from teaching. Ron was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and held season tickets to their football games for many years.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Blaine; his father, Bruno Wiederstein; and his sister, Betty Biesenbach.
Ron is survived by his niece, Cynthia Sloane and her husband Phillip Sloane of California; his nephew, Brad Biesenbach of Universal City; great niece, Stacey Buckley and her husband, Jevin Buckley of Colorado; great nephew, Randy Sloane and his wife, Christine Sloane of Colorado; great-great nieces, Carlie Temple and Briella Sloane; and great-great nephew, Ryder Sloane.
Visitation is thirty minutes prior to funeral services which will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 27th at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Highway in San Antonio. A burial service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A reception will be held following the services at the same location.
