"God looked around the garden, and found an empty space. He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best. He knew that you were weary, and he knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never be well on earth again. He saw the roads were getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So, he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered, peace be thine."
Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On February 10, 2022, Rosa rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings.
Rosa Martinez, age 70, passed away in the early hours of February 10th in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Pecos, Texas on April 6, 1951, to parents Manuel and Ynes Olivas and grew up surrounded by her large family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Enrique D. Martinez, her parents and her brother, Remedios Olivas. Rosa is survived by her two sons, Enrique (Ricky) Martinez and Ronald (Ronnie) Martinez and his wife Jeannette; five brothers, Chon Olivas, Manuel Olivas, Ruben Olivas, Ismael Olivas and Ray Olivas; four sisters, Anita Olivas, Estella Royal, Emma Mendoza and Mary Ellen Rubio. She is also survived by and was the proud grandmother of Justin Martinez, Tyler Martinez, Krystal Martinez, Malina Martinez, Enrique Martinez, Justin Lozoya, Aaron Martinez and Evan Martinez.
She started her 26-year illustrious work with the U.S. Marshals Service in West Texas El Paso and retired working directly for Asset Forfeiture Headquarters as the Team Lead over Third Party and Victim Payments. She was admired and loved by everyone that she worked with.
Rosa was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be dearly missed but dearly remembered. She loved to read her bible scriptures, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face even when times were tough. She loved going on long walks and working out at the gym. She believed that it was very important to stay active. While she did remain active in her retirement, the loss of her husband Enrique last year was very difficult. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Enrique and Rosa are together again.
"We know that we cant have you but were happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother."
"Gods garden must be beautiful; He always takes the best."
