

Rosalie Rizzo was born to Jim and Antoinette Rizzo in San Antonio, Texas on August 30, 1929 and joined Our Heavenly Father on May 7, 2021. Rosalie also joined her beloved father and mother; her and five older siblings and their spouses; Blas and Frances Rizzo, Ernest and Kathryn (Kitty) Rizzo, Mary R. Barcellona, Florence R. and Louis (Piggy) Catalani, and Vicenza R. (Vee) Jowdy. Rosalie is survived by her seven nieces and nephews; Antoinette Rizzo Ulrich, Dorothy Rizzo, Barbara Barcellona Orr, Jimmy Blas Rizzo, John Jowdy Jr., Mary Ann Jowdy Yamin, and Robert L. (Bob) Catalani. She is also survived by her eleven great-nieces, eight great-great nieces and nephews, in addition to many relatives and friends.
A San Antonio native, she was the youngest of six children. Family was very important to Rosalie. Having no children of her own, she was never wanting as she saw her nieces and nephews as her own. She was attentive to their needs and always stayed involved in their lives.
She entered the business world and took it by storm, keeping a commanding presence for 38 ½ years. She was employed 8 ½ years as an Executive Secretary for Emerson and Co., an investments banking firm with offices in New York and San Antonio. Most of her years of employment were spent at City Hall, where she was Executive Secretary to six city managers. Rosalie retired in 1987 after 30 years of service with the City of San Antonio.
Always keeping her faith, Rosalie was a member of the Italian San Francisco di Paola Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and also Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
