She and John were married in 1965 and then moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where John attended seminary and she continued her teaching career. While in Austin, Rosalin enjoyed teaching, boating, crafts, baking, caring for her mother, and witnessing the high school graduations of her children. In 1991, John, Rosalin and her mother moved to San Antonio, where Rosalin continued caring for her mother and John became Sr. Pastor of Shepherd King Lutheran Church. Rosalin enjoyed raising Shetland sheepdogs and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
After back surgery in 2008, Rosalin developed peripheral neuropathy and struggled with constant foot pain as well as other debilitating health issues.
