Maria De Rosario Galindo, lovingly known as Rosario, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 85, following natural causes. She was born on June 7, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, and spent her life rooted in the same city she always called home. Rosario was a woman of deep Christian faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rosario was married to her beloved husband, Javier Galindo, for 58 beautiful years. Their marriage was a true partnership built on faith, commitment, and enduring love. Together they shared a life blessed with family, hard work, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to her son, Javier Galindo Jr., and her daughter, Sandy Gonzales, and she embraced her role in the family with tenderness, patience, and grace. She was also a loving mother-in-law to Marco, a loving granddaughter-in-law to Olivia, a loving grandson-in-law to Aaron, and she held her ex-son-in-law, John Gonzales, with kindness in her extended family. Her sisters Gloria and Sylvia survive her, and she is reunited in heaven with her siblings Beatrice, Eva, Mario, and Richard, who preceded her in death.
Rosario was a proud and hardworking woman who owned and operated her own home day care for more than 30 years. Caring for children was not simply her occupation, but her calling. She took great joy in welcoming little ones into her home, often beginning with babies as young as six weeks old and lovingly caring for them until they were ready to begin school. Her daycare was a place of comfort, safety, and warmth, and many families were blessed by her patience, dependability, and gentle spirit. She poured her heart into every child she cared for, and she was deeply proud of the work she did throughout those many years.
Above all else, Rosario treasured her family. She found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people she loved and in making their favorite dishes with her own hands. She was a wonderful cook who expressed her love through her meals, her presence, and her constant support. Family celebrations brought her the greatest joy, and she delighted in every gathering, every shared laugh, and every moment spent together. Her home and her table were places where love was freely given, and her family will forever remember the comfort of her care and the warmth of her heart.
Rosario also enjoyed simple pleasures in life, including playing slot machines and scratching lotto tickets. These small moments of enjoyment were part of the personality that made her so beloved. She knew how to appreciate life’s little joys while never losing sight of what mattered most. She was a woman who gave of herself freely, who supported her family in every way she could, and who lived with a spirit that was both selfless and courageous. Her life was a beautiful reflection of the values she held dear, and her example will continue to inspire those who follow after her.
Those who knew Rosario will remember her as loving, selfless, and courageous. She was a steady presence, a faithful servant, and a devoted matriarch who cared deeply for everyone in her family. Her grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh, and Jasmyne, were a precious part of her life, and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Liam, and Logan, brought her great pride and joy. She cherished each one of them and found delight in watching her family grow across the generations. Her love extended beyond words, and her family will carry her memory with gratitude and deep affection.
As a Christian woman, Rosario lived with faith in her heart and trust in the Lord’s promises. Her life was a testimony to kindness, perseverance, and devotion. Though she has departed this earthly life, her family takes comfort in the hope of eternal life and in the assurance that she now rests in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy will remain alive in the lessons she taught, the meals she prepared, the children she nurtured, and the love she shared so generously.
Maria De Rosario Galindo will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Her life was a blessing to her family, her church, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely will continue to shine through the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the mercy and grace of God.
A visitation will take place at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday June 4, at Porter Loring Mortuary West. A rosary will follow beginning at 6:00 p.m.
