Rose Marie Martinez

This little girl would grow up to be a Blue Jacket at Lanier High School, and a switchboard operator for a large phone company. She would marry a handsome Naval Officer, and they would be together for over 58 years.

She was an excellent homemaker, a loving wife, mother, sister and "Nana."

Rose Marie passed away the night of Good Friday, April 18, 2025, while in hospice care. She was 84.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Jaime, Jr. and Mary Magdelina Jaime (Medina), Grandma Laura G. Jaime (Guzman), husband, John Henry Martinez, son, Jerry Joseph Martinez, brother Emmett Jaime III, in-laws, Leonardo and Juanita (Mascarenas) Martinez, sister-in-laws, Mary Rose Jaime and Rebecca Jaime.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Joy Martinez, grandson, Jeffrey Douglas Martinez, brother Oscar Jaime, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dog Buddy.

Cynthia and Jeff extend sincere thanks to Gladys and George Koval and the loving staff at Highland Gardens Koval's Personal Care Home, VITAS Hospice, Nurse Wendy, Chaplain Michel, Social Workers, Anna and Kelly. Also to Nurse Practitioner, Mr. Lafitte Holmes, and Thomas Cook, P.A.

A Celebration of Life will be June 26th from 1-3 pm at Cynthia and Jeff's home. We invite you to share lunch and memories with us.
